Soccer

I grew up loving soccer...  played in third grade all the way up through high school.  I loved it, loved most everything about it.  Loved the feel of a brand new pair of cleats, loved the uniform, and loved how it was a game you could play rain or shine.  To this day, the first new smells of spring always remind me of my years playing soccer.  So, all that being said, today was a proud day for me.  This morning was the first day of Spring Soccer for both C and E.  When we got to the field, you could feel the excited energy of the kids and parents alike.  C and Daddy headed out to their field, and I stayed with E.  True, there were a few tears, and a hint of the "there's no way this is happening" cling.  But, thankfully, after some solid reassurance, and a possible bribe of Mommy buying her a pack of gum afterwards, she joined her team and off she went.

She even met up with friend.  This would be the post practice pic, as evidenced by the lollipop, which is one of the sole reasons why our kids absolutely love their MYO sports teams.

C, on the other hand, jumped right in and was a rock star!  He told us later, that he told his coach that he wanted to play goalie, which did make his Mom a bit nervous.  However, he was awesome... made a few good saves, and had a great time.

So yeah... it's soccer season for our kids.  And here's hoping that they love it as much as I did.
