Harvest Party

Today we had a Harvest Party at Pioneer Clubs.

We read a story about a farmer who turned an ordinary pumpkin into a brightly lit jack-o-lantern that shone out into the night.  We talked about how God wants His love in us to shine brightly to others.

For our snack, we ate chocolate rice krispie treats with sprinkles on the top.

Then we played games... fun games, where you got to take off your shoes.

And when your number was called, you got to race into the shoe pile and find your own shoes and put them back on.

It was an everyday, ordinary task that became super fun for all.

Our shy girl tearfully decided not to play the games.  Her friend's Mommy was willing to sit out with her and eventually coaxed her back into joining the group.  As I looked at the two of them through my lens, I was so thankful for the patience and love that we can have for each other's kids.  I am incredibly blessed to have so many amazing friends who possess the compassionate qualities that make my kids feel so cared for and so loved.

We ended the night with some fun songs led by our wonderful Ms. Esther.

With Pioneer Clubs, I love taking time throughout the year to celebrate the different holidays and seasons.  I'm so thankful for tonight, for the fun we had, for our amazing leaders and for the wonderful kids that join us each week for this group.
