In Like a Lamb...

Thus far, it seems like 2012 might just be a gentler year in terms of weather.  The past few days have brought sunshine and temps in the 50s.  When we met together for a little football yesterday, I could have sworn that I could smell a touch of Spring in the air.  Pipe dreams, I know.  But it was fresh and earthy and a bit surreal considering it's technically the middle of winter.

Back to football.  There is just nothing quite so fun as a pick up game of touch football.

We're big fans of it around this time of year.

This picture was not great... but the play was, so I thought I should include it.  With sports and photography, I've realized that you win some and you lose some.

On the other hand, this picture and play were pretty awesome.

Ellee was pretty content to hang out in her little chair for most of the game.

While Christian was pretty pumped to be a part of the game.  He's sporty, like his Dad.

He had some pretty good plays, and it was a very fun morning spent with friends.

Today was a great start to a new year.  Jer preached this morning, and did such an amazing job.  He shared the stories of the feeding of the 5,000 and the feeding of the 4,000 and made some powerful connections with encouraging our congregation to remember God's work in our lives, even when situations are seemingly impossible.  God has done so many great things, and as we enter a new year, it was such great focus to remember that He will continue to faithfully work for our best and for His glory.

We enjoyed a good New Year's day meal, made by yours truly.  Granted, there are times that Boston Market helps us to celebrate the big days of the year, but I'm proud to say that I put together a pretty tasty meal.  Later in the afternoon, C headed out for a sleepover with his best friend, and Ellee and I took a trip out to our favorite beach.  It was beautiful, though a bit chilly as we got there right around sunset.

Gosh, I absolutely love this girl.

Ellee was all about the beach.  She wanted to take off her boots, but I convinced her that her feet would get pretty cold, seeing as it was winter and all.

We watched a beautiful sunset and then headed home.  Hanging with my daughter, at our favorite ocean, watching something so absolutely beautiful, all in all, was a pretty great way to kick off the new year.
