We live in Eastport. To many, it's a well-known antiquing town. My general opinion of antiques usually went along the lines of antiques being old things that cost a lot of money. I personally never really understood the appeal. That is, until I discovered this little beauty.
A few days ago, I was visiting with a friend who shared that her father had been a collector of old cameras. Being a bit of a camera fan myself, I was definitely intrigued. So, right before I left, she showed me some of the pieces that he had collected over the years. I fell in love. Hopefully at some time soon, I'm going to go and work with her to take some photographs of the pieces that he collected. She let me borrow a few pieces to do a session with my kids with. I was so excited.
So, today, we walked over to the school and had a little session.
C and E were pretty excited about checking out the cameras too.
It was easy to get smiles for this session. Ellee was delighted by the fact that she could see me in the viewfinder of her camera too.
I was extremely happy with the shots that I was able to get too.
In a world where we value new, it's hard sometimes to appreciate the old. But there's value in our past. In seeing where we've come over the years. I don't know a thing about these cameras. But the thought that they captured priceless memories, in another life and time, is pretty awesome, if you ask me.
A huge thank you to my dear friend Laura, for sharing such a treasure with me.
