This summer, on most Wednesdays it's been our tradition to meet up with friends down by Webby's Beach on the bay. With less than two more weeks to go before school starts, things have started to wind down a bit, and with that has come this mild sense of urgency to enjoy every last bit of summer that we can.
So, we brought out the umbrellas, towels, goggles and boogie boards. And despite the fact that there is most certainly a change in the air and temperatures slightly cooler, this sweet girl swam her heart out for most of the afternoon.
Christian and his buddies spent the afternoon digging for sea creatures.
They ended up with a good amount of crabs and quite a few baby fish... and what Christian demanded was most certainly an electric eel or a pencil fish. The jury's still out about what the long, skinny, wiggly thing was.
My amazing friend Jen supplied the world's greatest bag of popcorn.
The moms and the kids enjoyed it.
All in all
It was a beautiful afternoon
Full of smiles
Friends
Snacks
Adventures
And sweet memories.
It was also such a huge blessing to be able to see these sweet kids. Their awesome Momma drove them out for the afternoon and they jumped right in for a great time at the beach with friends.
I'm thankful for a great afternoon with some pretty amazing people! I'm looking forward to next week, which will be out last week to enjoy Webbys before school starts. It's a bit bittersweet, but all in all will be great memories of a summer well spent.
