A Call for Prayer...

Tonight, I am asking for prayer for our amazing friend Zack Skarka.  Three short months ago, I shared about the beginning of our friend Zack's life changing journey here.  During that time, Zack was diagnosed with cancer and learned that he had a large tumor on his lung.

Zack's gone through four rounds of chemo since then and today at 10:00am he is undergoing a surgery to remove that tumor.  His surgery will take place at Sloan Kettering, in the city and he will be under the care of one of the top surgeons in the world (no exaggeration.)

Please pray for Zack.  He is one of the best people that I will ever know, I'm sure of it.  He is so incredibly strong and talented, and throughout these past three months, he's been such an inspiration to so many with the strength and joy that he has lived out.  His love for God has shown through these difficult times and I know that we will forever be blessed having known him and having seen him grow throughout these past months.

Please pray for strength and for peace.  Please pray for his sister Luisa and for his parents Kevin and Gina.  Please pray for safety as they travel into the city tonight.  Please pray for the doctors and nurses who will aid in his surgery.  Pray that they will be skillful and wise.  Please pray that they will be able to remove the tumor and that Zack will emerge cancer free.  Please pray for healing and strength in the weeks to come as Zack recovers from his surgery.

God is good, and we know that He will do great things tomorrow.  So again, I ask that you would please join me in lifting up this amazing young man, as he undergoes a monumental day tomorrow.  Thank you and God bless!

UPDATE: Zack is out of Surgery!  His parents just met with the surgeon and he was incredibly positive about the surgery and very confident that they got ALL of the tumor removed.  Praise God!  Thank you so much, for all of your prayers!!!
