Sunday night at TAG, we played a game called Spoons. If you've never, you should, because it's a pretty fun and exciting game.
To play the game, you need people, spoons, and a couple of decks of cards. Each person has four cards in their hand, and the rest of the cards are passed, while each player tries to make a hand of four of the same number. Once they do that, they grab a spoon and then everyone else tries to grab a spoon as well. Since there is one spoon less than people who are playing, the person who doesn't get the spoon is out.
I'm sure that there are many life analogies that can be made when pondering the game of Spoons. Like, sometimes you have to deal with the hand that you are dealt, but then you just have to wait, because better cards are a-coming. Or, be quick, or you'll be out. Come to think of it, I'm not really great at making up analogies about Spoons, so I'll just move on.
Moving on, quick side note. This is our amazing friend Zack Skarka, who is home from Boston College on Spring Break. He is cancer-free and doing quite well and we just praise God for the amazing work he's done in Zack's life. He had testing done this week, that brought continued great results and we are so, so very thankful.
This is another one of our much loved Youth Group friends. She hasn't been around as much but came on Sunday and it totally made my evening to see her there. Life lesson: Even if you haven't been around as much, you can still come back whenever and be incredibly loved.
Or, you can come around all the time, like these great friends. And we will still love you just as much.
You gotta love a post where life lessons just come out from all over the place, right?
This is another one of our college students, who is home this week on Spring Break. She is one of the most beautiful and incredible people that I know, and it is always, always so great to have her home.
Last side note. Our friend Anthony is performing in Eastport South Manor High School's Spring Musical, The Music Man this week. We are super proud of him and so excited to see his performance. We are so blessed to know so many talented students!
And there you have it. Life lessons and side notes to ponder. Thanks to the wonderful students who came to hang out with us on Sunday night!
And also a quick update: Jer had another doctor's appointment today and he is in a walking boot! Granted, he's still not quite allowed to "walk" in it, but it seems like progress. The Dr. told us that there is one more area that they are waiting to see healed up and then he should be good to go. I'm so thankful that God continues to heal Jer's ankle and that we are getting closer each week to life returning back to normal.
