Tonight, it's just going to be words. Im proud of myself, because I've almost made it through an entire month blogging every day. 99% of those posts come with pictures, but tonight I've hit the wall. So its just going to be a few paragraphs of words and thoughts, that were tediously typed out on my iPad, because I'm sitting all cozy on our couch, next to my amazing husband who is watching one of his favorite Duke alumni play the Celtics.
Sundays are by far our busiest day. We start off at 9:30am with Sunday morning church, followed by Jr. and Sr. High Sunday School. We usually get home around 12:30ish, because we're the type who like to stand around and talk afterwards, catching up on life and such. Because of the nature of a busy morning, Sunday lunches are usually pizza from our favorite pizza place, Michaelangelos. Today, they gave us free garlic knots, which was just amazing, because we love the knots. I walked out with a smile on my face and in my heart, because that is what free knots will do to you.
I spent a good portion of the afternoon working on Christian's second grade VIP presentation. The second grade VIP of the week is supposed to make a cool poster, and bring it in to share with the class. Confession time... I totally forgot to write down the date of Christian's special VIP day on the calendar, so we technically missed it. I felt like a terrible mom for having missed it, and therefore committed to making the best VIP presentation ever. So, I spent my afternoon sorting through old pictures, all the while reminiscing about the amazing life that our son has had these past seven years.
At seven, I ran over to the church for our TAG bible study. We played Ga-Ga, ate delicious Snicker-doodle cookies (made by one of our amazing students) and then talked about one of Jesus's miracles. Then we had a leaders meeting for our upcoming weekend youth retreat to Pennsylvania.
After the meeting, I came home, put our kids to bed and then taught the lesson for our College and Career group. We talked about memorable and traumatic childhood birthday parties. We also talked about how God wants us to let our lights shine, so that others can see our good works, and praise our Father in heaven. It was a great night.
When everyone left around 10:45pm, Jer and I enjoyed grilled PB&J for dinner. Not the fanciest meal, but it was good, and filling. When I finish writing this, I'm totally heading to bed. It's been a great day, albeit one with just words. I'm really looking forward to this week, and can't wait to share the fun things that are coming up.
