Yesterday, I stopped in to visit Citarelli's Gourmet Deli. If you are familiar with Eastport at all, then you probably know Citarelli's. While talking to Tony, one of the owners, I found out that it's been around since the 1930s, and was Eastport's first original market.
I've always like Citarelli's. It's always kept neat and clean and has a little bit of just about everything you might need in terms of great food and groceries.
The staff is very friendly and always very efficient. There are many times when I'll choose to run up to Citarelli's to get what I need, even though King Kullen is literally only a block further. It definitely has to do with the fact that I know I'll get great and quick service every time I go there.
When it comes to price, it's honestly somewhat comparable to our grocery store, which is pretty good considering it's a small business.
And little signs like these, in my mind, are always a bonus too. Because really, who wouldn't want some whipped cream in their hot chocolate?
While talking with Tony, I learned that customers love Citarelli's for their specialty sandwiches, deli choices, fresh breads and their wonderful catering.
Looking into their display cases, it's not difficult to see that there are some pretty tasty choices available each day.
Along with a variety of deli meats and cheeses, Citarelli's also offers a large selection of freshly made salads.
Also to be noted... they carry my favorite juice.
I know that there are many times that I've run up to Citarelli's to pick up a few groceries. Tony shared that he asks his customers what they want and then works to get it for them. That's pretty attentive service if you ask me.
And, from experience, I can vouch that Citarelli's carries some amazing pies. This one happens to be my absolute favorite. As in, no-crumbs-left-behind favorite.
If you've never stopped by Citarelli's Gourmet Deli, I highly recommend it. From delicious, freshly prepared foods to all those little things that you hate to have to run into the grocery store for, Citarelli's has a great selection of quality products. It's my personal favorite place to stop by if I need a gallon of milk or a chocolate pie (haha... but seriously, that pie is amazing), and I think that you'll enjoy it too.
