My heart is beating a bit faster after just watching the end of the Duke vs. North Carolina college basketball game. That, was an incredible win. Best quote of the night was made by Austin Rivers in his post-game interview when he said, "God made the ball go in." After watching the clock tick down to nothing and seeing that beautiful 3-point shot sail in, I'd have to agree.
Wednesdays are Pioneer Clubs days at our church. So I got to see all of these beautiful kids tonight.
I love these kids.
After the busyness of this past weekend, it's been a bit of a challenge catching up on everything. So today, when I walked into Pioneer Clubs, I'll be honest, I was dragging a bit. But something about seeing all of these amazing kids just made me so happy to be there, no matter how tired I had felt.
Christian has been attending Pioneer Clubs for the past four years. Next year he will move on to the Stockade Boys program at our church. He's gotten so much out of Pioneer Clubs these past four years, but all in all, I think that he's ready.
These two guys come each week to lead our game time. They are incredible. The kids have really responded well to them this past year. And I'm proud to see students who are willing to give of their time to serve. I'm also proud to see students who are willing to get right in and demonstrate the "three men in a boat" dynamic of the game poop deck. The kids love that game, strange as it may sound.
Besides that, I got to spend a morning with one of my favorite friends ever. Her name is Amber. We ate homemade blueberry and chocolate chip muffins. I personally love to bake muffins and I also love the combination of fruit and chocolate so I incorporate it every chance I can get. We also talked about life. She has some pretty exciting things going on, and she inspires me.
Tomorrow I'm heading out to The Fitness Studio to take some pictures for one of the owners. I'm also going to sign up to take a few classes and I am so, so excited about that. I always wanted to be a cool gym person, who takes classes. I'm not sure about the cool part, but I am super pumped about the thought of doing something new and healthy. Speaking of healthy, I am super sore today after running for the first time in forever yesterday. It feels good though, in a I-did-something-good-for-myself sort of way.
And that would conclude my Wednesday stream of consciousness... Thanks so much for stopping by :)
