Today was pretty awesome. After dropping the kids off to spend the day with one of my amazing friends and her kids, we hopped on the bikes and headed out for a ride with my parents. We stopped by Dunkin Donuts for a quick snack. The funniest quote of the morning was from my awesome husband who shared that his donut was "both delicious and disgusting." The funniest part was, that I knew exactly what he was talking about, considering that I felt the same way about mine.
What started as a bit of a cloudy day, quickly turned into an absolutely gorgeous one.
We stopped at this "Scenic Overlook" to admire the scene... or the overlook.... or both.
It was incredibly fun having my parents there to ride with us.
We took them out to Montauk, where they saw our infamous lighthouse and basked in the beauty of it being a recently designated national historic landmark.
We stayed long enough to take this picture, and then headed back to check out the town of Montauk.
For lunch, we enjoyed some pretty amazing seafood from this cute little roadside restaurant.
Since there was a big sign that said, "Clam Bar," I'm guessing that's what it's called. Oh, and it should be noted, that hey had the best clam chowder I have ever tasted. If you're a fan of clam chowder, I would highly recommend checking them out, next time you are out East.
I'm so incredibly thankful for the fun that we had this afternoon.
It isn't often that we get to see my parents, and it was extra special being able to show them our beautiful island.
On our way back, we rode over the Ponquogue bridge.
All in all, it was an absolutely beautiful day.
My parents are leaving tomorrow morning. We have had a wonderful time with them and will be praying for safety for them, in their travels back home.
How fun and I can see that Jack and Lori enjoyed it as much as you :-)
