Today is our Christian's 8th birthday. I'm so incredibly thankful for him and these past 8 years. I'm also so incredibly thankful for the things that I've learned from him these past 8 years.
I'm learned that life should be full of laughter. Christian's fun loving nature came early on. He was a very happy baby and he brought us so much joy.
I've learned that it's okay to make messes. Especially ones that clean up easy with a little soap and water.
I've learned that at times it's fun to be someone new.
I've learned that a thumbs up from my boy means that he's good and when he's good, I'm good.
I've learned that life hurts sometimes. But thus far, a kiss from mom and a band aid tends to make it a little better, most of the time.
I've learned that sometimes we need to be super heroes. We need to do good and to help others and sometimes we need a cool costume to help us accomplish those things.
I've learned to cherish the little things in life, like being barefoot in the summer.
I've learned that sometimes things aren't fair. But you have to learn how to deal with it.
I've learned that a little dirt doesn't hurt.
I've learned that Christian can totally rock a mohawk.
I've learned that those eyes can just melt my heart. I've learned that we are raising a son who is amazing, and wonderful and who loves God and is incredibly driven. I've learned that most of the time our hard work is helping to build this kid a strong foundation, one that will stand firm as he continues to grow up in this crazy world. I've learned that black and white pictures of my son make me want to write lines and lines about how wonderful he really is.
I've learned that it doesn't matter what you look like if you are doing something that you love.
I've learned that there are many things to discover in the bay. I've learned that my son isn't afraid to discover those things.
I've learned that my son has incredible patience with me when it's my goal to get a great shot of him.
Happy Birthday, dear Christian. Thank you for the things that you've taught me and the things that you will continue to teach me. Daddy and I love you so much and we know that God has a great plan for your life. It's our prayer that you would love Him, that you would have a good heart and that you would figure out and follow those great plans.
We praise God for you and for the eight wonderful years of life that you have lived. We pray that God will bless you with many, many more wonderful years. We love you Christian!
