This morning, I was up nice and early to photograph a Holiday Session for two very sweet little girls. On the way home, I drove by a Walgreens and tempted by the possibilities of a few good deals, I decided to stop in. Granted, I'm normally a Rite Aid fan and since our Walgreens is 20 minutes away in Riverhead, I haven't done much shopping there.
Before I checked out the deals, I stopped by the register to sign up for the Walgreens rewards program. It took me about two minutes and I was good to go. The last page of the Walgreens ad that I picked up showed a nice group of items that I could get for free (in rewards) if I used my card. So I decided on the following, because they were items that I really loved anyways.
I also picked up three rolls of wrapping paper, because they were buy one for $1.99 and get two free. A pretty sweet way to get nice wrapping paper, if you ask me.
With tax I paid $10.07 out of pocket for all of those items. I also got $4 back in rewards, so it evened out to about $6.00 for everything. My receipt told me that I saved $19.18 which is not bad for things that we will use and enjoy.
Then, after a nice tip from Hip2Save.com I stopped by our Rite Aid to pick up four bottles of laundry detergent.
Using $5 in coupons that I had, I paid $8.06 out of pocket for the four detergents. Not bad.
But it got even better when I got $10.00 back in +Up rewards to use on my next purchase at Rite Aid.
Though I love good deals, I wasn't much into the whole Black Friday shopping ordeal. However, it was pretty fun to make a few small trips and get some pretty great deals in the process.
Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
