Today started out normally enough. Jer woke up super early to take a group of students to Pennsylvania for a ski trip. I, on the other hand, slept in and then proceeded to do this workout:
Before working out, I ate a nice healthy bowl of Oatmeal Squares and took my multivitamins, because it seemed like the right thing to do.
Then I laced up my trusty sneakers and tried to mentally prepare myself for working out at home. For the record, it's been about a year since I've made an effort at getting in shape. It started at this time last year, when my dear friend Kim invited me to try Zumba at her local gym. Fast forward a year, and now I proudly frequent my gym about 3-4 times a week, for classes that I absolutely love. It's a good place to be.
This beauty came in handy this morning when I was working out. I got it in this month's Popsugar Musthave Box (affiliate link). Popsugar is a subscription box that I get and love. It's a bit pricey at about $35 a month, but it's a fun and I've really been pleased with it. If I get things that I don't use myself, I have lots of fun sharing them with friends, so I suppose it all works out. That being said, this month I got a Stability Ball and I'm loving it. Our kids also have fun with it as well, so it's a win-win.
Christian joined me in doing the 100 burpees after I bribed him with game time. Needless to say, he was pretty tired when we got done. The workout took a bit longer than expected, because in all honesty, it's hard to workout at home. I get distracted in-between sets and I much prefer doing the class at the gym. I'll try to let that be my motivation to get up for next week's Spin class.
This afternoon, Ellee and I hung out and watched Christian play basketball.
He plays for MYO and had a blast today.
Ellee kept herself busy, writing sweet things
and playing with her purse. She's a pretty simple girl.
I was loving the determination that Christian displayed.
It was fun to see him concentrating and working hard.
He happens to have his Daddy's height, which was quite effective when he was blocking.
He ended up with eight points scored between the two games that he played.
We were pretty proud of our C today. His hard work and effort resulted in McDonalds ice cream cones for everyone (in our family, at least).
It was a pretty great day, all in all. I'm a bit apprehensive at how today will end though. I just got a call from Jeremy who told me that he's pretty sure that he broke his ankle skiing today. Right now, I'm waiting for him to get home (he's a few hours away) and when he does, we will head to the emergency room to get it checked out. I'm so thankful that one of the dads who went on the trip is able to drive the group home and I know that all in all, God knows and that everything will work out. Prayers would be greatly appreciated :)
Also, I just wanted to let everyone know that our kids will be hanging at a friend's home this evening, so they are covered. So many of our dear friends have offered to help out with them, so I thought I would let you all know. We feel very loved and are so thankful for the beautiful people that God has placed in our lives.
