It's all His...

So, I thought I'd take some time to share why I started this blog.

First off, I wanted to have something that would encourage me to be more proactive with my photography business.   I've always loved taking pictures, capturing unique moments of time.  I bought my first Canon SLR with my high school graduation money.  When I got married in 2003, I remember the big decision that we made, to take some of our wedding money and buy a $400 3.2 megapixel Sony digital camera.  I remember thinking it was such a big decision, and a lot of money, but being happy to have something that I could use to capture our lives.

Then, when I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, Jer surprised me with my first digital SLR.  I started shooting a ton, and from there just continued to develop my love for photography.  I started shooting professionally during the fall of 2008, when I received the opportunity to take the school pictures for the preschool where I worked.  In the two and a half years since, I have continued to learn, and grow and develop my work as a photographer.

I'll be honest, I love the photography, but have to make sure that it fits in with the rest of my life... which is a challenge at times.  I'm a pastor's wife, and spend much of my time helping out and supporting Jer and his work with our church.  We have an amazing youth group where invest much of our time.  I'm also a mom, to two amazing kids that I love, and love to photograph.  And then, along with that, I work as a sub at Over the Rainbow Preschool.  I taught there for a few years, and absolutely love the place, the people and of course, the kids.  And in between all of that, I fit my photography.  I love working with kids and families, and have also had many opportunities to photograph events and weddings too.

Along with sharing my photography, I want to use this blog to share my life.  God has blessed my life in so many ways, and He has truly blessed me in the area of photography.  In all reality, it's all His.  Every shot I take captures the beauty of what God's created.  Every person I interact with allows me to share the love and hope that I have in my Savior.  And every session I complete allows me to give back a portion of what God has so graciously given to me.  In all reality, it's all His.  And I'm grateful to be a part of it :)
