Family Date Night

Tonight was a family date night.  Daddy rode ahead on his scooter, and the kids and I hopped into the car to meet him in one of our favorite date night locations, Westhampton.

We ate at this restaurant.  It's a favorite of ours.

We scour the menu to find our favorites.  The burritos are enormous, the nachos are amazing and Christian and Ellee love the tacos on the kids menu.

Jer enjoys an ice cold Coke, while the kids opt for Snapple.

If you ask him, Christian will proudly tell you he loves Snapple, because it is "Made from the best stuff on earth."  It's a fun fact that he picked up from reading the side of the Snapple Cooler.  Last week, when we went to Riverhead, he saw a Home Depot and shouted out, "More saving, more doing... that's the power of the Home Depot."  These would seem to be signs that he watches too much television, but in all reality, with our DVR, we don't watch many commercials.  I think it's more just that he loves a good slogan, his brain is like a sponge, and he just soaks it all in... and then is able to remember it all.

Back to Funchos.... let me tell you, they have the best fish tacos ever.  For $3.75, it's one of the tastiest, and best deals on their menu.  I talked a customer behind me into trying one, they are that good.

After dinner, we walked over to the Haagen Daz ice cream store, to see one of our youth group kids who was working tonight.  Turns out, it's not only an ice cream shop, but also a candy store.  While searching for my favorite treats, I stumbled across these Gummy Centipedes... which reminded me of how we will be in Puerto Rico for our Missions Trip in less than a month.

And then I found these gems... and I wondered how much you would have to hate good dental hygiene to eat a gummy bear this big?

We ended the night down here by the water.  It was a fantastic date night.  Summer has been so, so good.  We've been hanging out at the beach, like it's our job, getting together with friends for play dates, enjoying pool time and campfires in our yard, and making some great memories all together.

We'll enjoy our all church picnic tomorrow...  if you're local, you should probably come.  We'll have great food, great company, and plenty of fun for all ages.  Church starts at 9:30am, and the picnic will be all afternoon.
