Leaving on a Jet Plane

The day after tomorrow, we are leaving on a jet plane to fly to Campamento del Caribe, in Puerto Rico.
We will be taking a team of 31 leaders and students, and spending 10 days there, serving the camp by doing a variety of work projects.

Three years ago, we took a team down there for a missions trip where we worked on building this.

I'm so incredibly excited to go back.  It's a beautiful camp, that sits right next to the Carribean sea.

We have stressed over and over to our team that this is not a vacation.  While we are there, we will be hot (temps will be in the 90s with lots of humidity), and we will get dirty.

We may encounter local wildlife, but if we take the right precautions, hopefully the detriment will be to them and not us.

And as with most missions trips, I'm sure we will encounter many challenges along the way.

Sure, the work may be tough, but the rewards will be great too.  I'm especially looking forward to visiting this Frappe stand, where they make the most delicious frappes I've ever had.

While we are there, we will also spend some time enjoying the beautiful sights of Puerto Rico.

Cliff jumping in the rainforest was a highlight of the trip last time.

We are so blessed to be returning to Puerto Rico with a good number of the team that we took three years ago.  We are also so excited to be meeting up with Jeremy's sister and brother in law, who will meet us on our first layover and then fly down with our team.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers over the next week and a half.  I know that God is so good, that He has a purpose for us, and I'm praying that He will use us in great ways while we are in Puerto Rico.

While we are away, I will be running a giveaway from Whitties Knitties.
I met Whitney through Etsy and she is so sweet, and incredibly talented.

From booties, to hair pins, to stylish shoe clips, Whitney handcrafts all of her work, with love and care.
The materials that she uses are of top notch quality and carefully selected for each of her unique pieces.

I absolutely loved the Magenta and Paprika crocheted circles that she sent me.
They were easy to use and looked adorable in Ellee's hair.

I'm so excited to announce that Whitney also sent me two sets of pins to give away to two of my readers!

To enter this giveaway, all you have to do is visit Whitties Knitties and leave a comment below to share one of your favorite items from her shop.

When I return from Puerto Rico on the 18th, I will pick two commenters that will each win one of the sets of hair pins pictured below.

So check out Whitties Knitties, and leave your comment below!

Note, Whitties Knitties graciously sent me products for review and to giveaway.
