Dear Christian,
From the moment that you came into this world, we knew that you would be amazing.
As a baby, you brought us so much joy. And as you grew, it was quite apparent that you loved to have laugh and have lots of fun.
One of our proudest moments was seeing you become a big brother. From the very start, you were such a good helper. We told you all along that Ellee was yours to take care of and protect.
You've done an amazing job, loving and looking out for Ellee and she in turn has absolutely adored you as her big brother. It warms Mommy's heart when you say, with such love, that Ellee is the only sister that you'd ever have. (This of course is in response to Mom constantly reminding you both to love each other, because you're the only siblings each other will have).
Christian, you are so, so smart. At 3 years old, you memorized 16 big verses from the Bible, you constantly recall things that we can't even remember, and now in second grade, you are reading like an absolute stud. We are so proud of all that you have accomplished!
You love your Mommy, but you absolutely adore your Daddy. He is doing an amazing job, raising you to be strong, smart and fun loving. Most of all, he teaching you about the very most important things in life... to love God and to do what's right. You are doing so great, with both of these things.
We love you so much Christian. We love your smile and your laughter. We love your fun loving spirit. We love your strong will and we are so excited to see the great things that God will do in your life.
Today, we celebrated your 7th birthday. I'll be honest, a few times I thought and once even said that it was your 8th. Most everyone thinks that you're 8, because you're so incredibly tall and so amazing. And whereas someday you'll be 8, today you turned 7. And so we celebrated 7 amazing years... with a lion pancake, of course.
Daddy and Ellee joined you for your traditional breakfast in bed.
You opened your presents with enthusiasm and couldn't wait to enjoy your birthday day.
Mom made special treats and take home bags that you shared with your entire class. You excitedly told me how you even got to share with the custodians, by leaving them the extra treats. And Mom was so, so proud to see the kindness and compassion that is growing in your heart.
After school, we enjoyed hang out time and a special birthday dinner with your very best friend and her family. You two have known each other since you were in diapers. She is your favorite, and it was so amazing to be able to have her share in your special day.
And then yesterday night,
and tonight, you shared birthday cake with some of your favorite people in the entire world. Between both nights, we celebrated with just over 100 students and leaders. They all love you tremendously and have been such an important part of your life, ever since you've been born.
So, there you have it, Love. Not a bad day at all. We thank God for the 7 amazing years that He has given us with you. We pray that He would continue to bless you and keep you safe. We know that He will do great things in your life. We love you, so, so much Christian, and wish you a Happy, Happy Birthday.
With All Our Love,
Mommy and Daddy
