Weekend

This weekend was a busy one.  Yesterday morning, Christian played in his weekly soccer game.

Ellee and I sat by the sidelines and faithfully cheered him and his team on.  We seem to have a pretty good system worked out.  Throughout the game, Christian flashes us smiles and gives us thumbs ups, and we in turn cheer like crazy, and clap and are ready to throw out the Gatorade when he comes by for a break.

As we were sitting there watching, this cute little cloud caught my eye.  Sometimes clouds are just clouds... but sometimes they are other things.  This cloud?

It reminded me of some sort of baby penguin chicken... so I came home and drew it out for all of you.

This has also been a weekend full of some pretty fun play dates.  All in all, we've had 6 total friends over to play at various times.  There has been no shortage of games, laughter, and fun times for Christian, Ellee and their buddies.  This afternoon, my table is covered with craft shrapnel and there are three little girls who are having a blast creating and painting their treasures.

I love to see the friendships that our kids are creating.  I can't think of anything more valuable in this life, than a good friendship.  Having those people who will love you and support you through the good and the bad is an amazing treasure.  I know that I am so incredibly thankful for the friendships that God has brought me, and I'm also very thankful for the friendships that He's brought our kids.

Yup, it's been a good weekend.  I'll end the day with our TAG Bible Study and then College and Career group at our home.  Then I'll head into an amazingly, wonderfully busy week.  This Tuesday and Wednesday, I'll be taking the school pictures at Over the Rainbow Preschool.  We'll have clubs and youth group nights.  And I'm incredibly excited to be having our first Women's Book Study group which will meet this Wednesday night at our house.  We are going through the book, Calm My Anxious Heart, by Linda Dillow, and I think it's going to be amazing.  It's a book about finding contentment and dealing with anxiety and stress.  It's pretty much a perfect book for me, and it seems like other women can relate to the topic too, as I've had such a great response to women who are going to come.  If you are interested, or if I can share more details, email me at lauraherr8@gmail.com and I would love to share more.
