Do All the Good You Can

I started this week out focusing on the quote:

Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
In all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.
-John Wesley

As I've gone though these past days, it's lingered there in the back of my mind.
And I've realized that the very best life, is one that follows this code.
Granted, it becomes a very busy life... but good, nonetheless.

Yesterday was one of the busiest days I've ever had.  I started out the day taking school pictures at Over the Rainbow Preschool.  In the afternoon, we had Pioneer Clubs, a children's program that I direct at our church.  There is something just so incredibly fun about spending the afternoon with 20 or so Pre-K through Second grade kids.  I ended the day with some amazing women, who came over for our first monthly book study group.  We are reading through the book, Calm My Anxious Heart, by Linda Dillow.  We enjoyed fresh fruit smoothies and shared a bit about our lives and our desire for contentment. It was a pretty amazing night.

Tonight, we had a Slurpee drinking contest at Youth Group.  It's funny to me, when I think of all of the amazing people that I get to spend my weeks with.

I can go from hanging out with amazing women at a book study, to cheering on students who are willing to suffer a brain freeze in order to win a contest.

Needless to say, the crowd was enthusiastic...

And for the most part, the participants had a pretty good time.

I think that tiredness from this week has finally caught up with me... and Ellee was feeling it a bit too.

But it's hard to focus too much on that, when we're hanging out with some of the most amazing students on Long Island.

There's something so good about doing all the good that you can, because rewards of life are not measurable by dollars or possessions.  The true rewards in life are measured by the beauty of the relationships that we nurture and the lives that we influence for the good.

Hope you're living out this goodness and enjoying the rewards of it too!
