Video Game Smorgasbord

Nine years ago, we decided that the best possible way for teens to celebrate Christopher Columbus discovering America, would be to spend the day playing video games.  Ever since then, we have carried on the great tradition of the Video Game Smorgasbord.  In the early years, we met together at the church.

Most of the kids in this picture are now college freshmen.  We are so incredibly thankful for the long term ministry that God allows us to have out here.

In more recent years, we've decided to host the Smorgasbord at our home.

There's something pretty spectacular about having 40 some teenagers hanging out in your home.

There is also something pretty spectacular about seeing your kitchen counter tops filled with 12 bottles of soda and massive amounts of chips, popcorn and cookies.  Equally impressive is how little was left by the end of the afternoon.

Christian was pretty much on cloud nine today, being able to hang out with his friend and play video games all afternoon.

And amazingly, it was around 80 degrees outside today.  So not only did the teens enjoy playing video games, they also had fun hanging out outside.

All in all, it was a fantastic afternoon.

We absolutely love these kids, and love the opportunity to share our home and our lives with them.

Hope you all had an amazing Columbus Day too!
