Spaghetti Supper

Tonight was our Annual Spaghetti Supper.  We have it once a year and it takes place the week after our Breakaway retreat.  We basically use this night to feed and serve our amazing church and then we have a special youth service, where we share all of the amazing things that happened during the retreat.

We had a great turnout tonight.  In addition to all of the kids who came to serve, we fed many of the wonderful friends and members of our church family.  The meal was free and delicious... a combination that is difficult to find.

I took a little time to photograph some of the beautiful faces that I am blessed to see each week, including this one.

I loved watching this sweet little guy enjoy his spaghetti.

We have so many wonderful families in our church.

Many we have been blessed to know for nearly nine years now.

They've been there and faithfully served within our church for many years.

They are amazing.  This girl in particular too, is amazing.

Within the past year, we have also seen an increase in new families that have come to our church.  This is the friend that I introduced Costco too, along side of her wonderful husband.  I've really enjoyed getting to know them over this past year.

I'm also thankful for this beautiful little girl.  Our church has been praying for her, and what a blessing it's been to see her doing well.

I'm also very proud of all of the kids that came out tonight to help with the spaghetti supper.

And at the same time thankful for the many people who helped to make this night special.  Our wonderful Pastor Charley and his wife Jan served in the kitchen and we are so thankful for all of their help and support.

After the dinner, we had a youth service to celebrate the wonderful things that happened over the Breakaway weekend.

Ellee entertained herself with a good old fashioned hymnal throughout the service.  Our kids really do an excellent job of just going with the flow as we continue to serve at our church.  Christian is slowing inching his way into being less of a little kid to more of a participant in the things that we do here.  He proudly served a table tonight for the dinner, fetching drinks and plates of spaghetti.  Then, for the service, he joined the worship team and helped to lead the singing.  He was loud and proud, and it brought so much joy to my heart to see my son loving Jesus and serving others.

The highlight of the service is hearing the testimonies of the students and leaders who attended Breakaway.  Granted, each year we've enjoyed hearing tales of fun times on the tubing hill and memories from the YMCA.  But this year was different, in that each and every student who shared, really talked about how God worked in their life over the weekend and how they were impacted by the words shared by our speaker, Pastor Rick.

It was incredibly moving to hear about the life changing events that happened over that weekend.  I am so thankful for our leaders, and proud of our students.

A huge thanks to everyone who helped and participated in this year's Spaghetti Supper!
