Yesterday, during the greeting time at our church, I looked up to see these two beautiful people.
And, I had to do a double take, because they are not only family friends of ours, they are family friends from my hometown in Michigan.
They flew out to the city to celebrate their anniversary, and then took the time to come out to eastern Long Island to visit us for the morning and afternoon. It was so awesome and we had a great time. Since it was only a short visit, we had to cram in as much fun as we could. After getting New York bagels for a snack and following them with New York pizza from the Eastport Michaelangelos, we drove out to Westhampton to check out the beach and the beautiful Atlantic ocean.
Then we spent a little time walking around Westhampton and of course I had to make them stop in various places so I could commemorate such a special day with pictures.
It might be hard to imagine, but this couple has been married for 7 years.
And she is pregnant with their fifth child.
Quite phenomenal, if you ask me. And while talking with them, it was quite evident that although very busy and living life the the full, they were still so very much in love with each other.
We wrapped up our outing with a quick trip to the Beach Bakery. Coconut mounds and delicious fruit tarts made for a very yummy end to our wonderful afternoon.
It was an absolute delight to be able to entertain home town friends yesterday afternoon. In the short time they were here, we ate, shared and just celebrated such a beautiful couple. I'm hoping that for the next visit they will bring out their sweet children.
I pray that God will continue to bless them as they finish up their trip today and head back home later tonight, and of course, in all of the wonderful years that are yet to come.
