Nana and Papa are here for the week, and we are ridiculously excited to have them visiting us. We started our week off by taking Nana on a visit to one of the greatest places ever, Robinson's Tea Room.
Nana was fun and tried the House Tea.
While Ellee and I enjoyed sweet cups of delicious hot chocolate with pretty red sprinkles.
Lunch consisted of salad and quiche for Nana,
And Ellee picked a bunny shaped Nutella and Fluff sandwich. Sadly she didn't eat much of it, so I had to step in and help out, which I did because I'm helpful like that.
I enjoyed a hot and delicious bowl of chili but was mostly saving room for the highlight of the day, the post-meal scone. The scones at Robinson's Tea Room are like no other scones in the world (slight exaggeration... or not). They are served warm with raspberry jam and cream. And they are so incredibly amazing. As in, you finish eating them, and are a little sad because you're not sure when you will have another one. As in, my mouth is watering a tiny bit, just writing about them. Yes. They are that good.
It was a delightful afternoon.
This evening, I had the privilege of doing a pretty special photo shoot, which I will certainly share soon.
Afterwards, we took Nana and Papa to Michaelangelos for dinner and then headed out to catch Jer's softball game. It was pretty awesome having three generations of Herr men standing all together.
It was a great game of softball. Our team won by a few runs.
This picture made me think that apparently, Christian is 7 going on 17. Sigh. But he still holds my hand when crossing the road and tells me that I'm the best mom ever. And I'm secretly hoping that he'll still think that when he's 17.
Back to the game. We had a great turnout of fans too, including this great group of friends.
And this handsome guy did quite well too. All in all, it was a great Monday. The weather was gorgeous and it was wonderful to be surrounded by wonderful things and wonderful people.
Happy Monday!
