On Wednesday nights in the summer, we get our youth group together for TAG at the beach. Tonight, we had a great group of 42 students and leaders join us for the first one of the summer.
It was a beautiful evening spent with some of the most amazing people.
When I announced that we were having a "Bring a Friend" contest this year, one of our amazing students was excited, considering the fact that she brought 5 of her friends tonight. She's off to a pretty good start, if you ask me.
And considering this picture, I am not the only camera enthusiast in our youth group. This amazing girl was showing heart and determination, as she worked her shots with one arm in a sling. Now that is dedication.
So what exactly do we do at TAG? Well, we spend a good chunk of time hanging out and playing some intense games of Kan Jam.
And this cute guy had a blast tonight playing soccer with a fun group as well.
And sometimes we just hang out on the lifeguard stand.
The main focus of the night is on the lesson time that we have. This summer, we are talking about the idea of "How to Be Rich." It's going to be this introspective series on knowing that we already are rich, and then honoring God by what we do. We're also going to learn to be rich in God and His many, many blessings. It's going to be a great series.
I love TAG at the beach.
I love sitting and enjoying the sheer beauty of the nature that we soak up at the beach.
And goodness knows, I love a good jumping off the lifeguard stand picture.
Christian took a little time tonight to work up the courage to jump off the stand like the big kids. When he finally did, it looked a little something like this. I was pretty proud.
Before the night was done, I had to get a few sibling pictures, considering the fact that there are some amazing siblings home from college and they still continue to come and join us, along with joining their siblings who are now part of our youth ministry.
That was a complicated way of saying that we are tremendously blessed with many, many wonderful families.
If you are, or know of a student who is in Jr. High (or going into Jr. High) or Sr. High and they would like to hang out with the coolest people on Long Island, definitely come and join us for TAG at the beach. We meet up at Eastport Bible Church at 6:00pm every Wednesday throughout the summer (though we will not be meeting next Wednesday, as it's the Fourth of July). Please feel free to check out EBCYG.com for more information on our youth activities!
Seeing pictures like this make me love where I live even more than I already do! So glad people take advantage of all the beautiful scenery we have around here... nice job, Laura!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's beautiful. I feel like all I read is the negative about teens, and here I see all these beautiful teenagers have clean, wholesome fun. Very enlightening.
