There's an old saying, "Life is just a bowl of cherries." And I thought it went well with my picture of, well, a bowl of cherries. Which we ate tonight at our annual Leader's Night. And they were delicious.
I started this Friday morning hanging with some amazing girls at our weekly Girl's group. We ate blueberries, listened to an inspired devotional and talked about living lives with humility. It was a fantastic way to start out the day. Afterwards, the kids and I made a Costco run to get some delicious food for tonight's dinner.
The afternoon was spent cleaning and I even had time to take a little nap, which I did. Because some days, you just need one. It worked like a charm. When our friends arrived for dinner, I was reenergized and ready to go. Ellee ran around collecting fireflies while Jer grilled up a feast for everyone. Nothing says summer like friends, barbecues and fireflies.
Side note... I love this man.
We had a great evening with the amazing team of leaders that heads up our youth ministry each year. We shared memories from this past year and it was pretty amazing to see how God worked in the lives of our leaders and students throughout this past year. We thank and praise Him for the many blessings that he continues to show us in the ministry that we have here.
