Why Waldbaums is our Favorite...

Lately, I've been doing the majority of my weekly grocery shopping at Waldbaums.  And the reason has nothing to do with their outstanding sales, or my attempts at saving hundreds of dollars through magical couponing.  Nope.  Waldbaums is our favorite, solely because they have adorable shopping carts that are exactly Ellee's size.  Which means that my daughter who once dreaded grocery shopping as much as her Mama, now absolutely adores it.  At the mention of heading out to any store, she always asks, "Wait... is it the one with the carts?"

That being said, tonight, after sweating like crazy during one of my boot camp gym classes, we left straight from the gym to go grocery shopping.  Ellee, in her sweet but assertive manner, a bit alarmed at the sweaty state that I was in, kindly told me, "Mom... you're kind of sweaty.  But don't worry, I don't think anyone will notice... right?"  Bless her little heart.

We picked up the important things that we needed for the week.  Things like animal crackers and broccoli slaw, which is my new favorite.  Add dried cranberries, sunflower seeds and a little dressing, and it's definitely a party for your tastebuds.

We also got this, which she affectionately refers to as "Favorite Soup."  Because it is our favorite soup.

As usual at Waldbaums, Ellee had a blast carefully checking out grocery items before putting them into her cart.  Seriously, whoever came up with those little carts should get an award.

I'm a big fan of Prego sauce, and so it took me awhile to figure out which of these to choose.  Ah, the intricate details of marketing and packaging.  Right away, I felt "Smart" choosing any of these, but ended up being Heart Smart and picking the traditional blend.

Since Daddy and C are at a Mets game tonight, Ellee and Mom had a fun night too.  I told her that she could pick out a treat, and so this was her choice.  I did however warn her that sugary cereal isn't really all that good (we try to eat somewhat healthier versions).  She insisted (must have been the appealing packaging), and after eating about a quarter of the Foot Loops, decided that Mom was right after all.

All in all, we had a great night together.  We came home, ate fun snacks and watched a movie together.    Hope you all enjoyed your evening too!
