$13.99 Well Spent...

I'll admit it... life has been a bit overwhelming lately.  Which is why today was absolutely perfect and necessary for reminding me that sometimes it's good to take a break.  It's good to get away, to regroup and of course to spend time with my very best friend.

All that being said, I started the day with a fun step class at the gym.  Then after a very dear friend came by to swoop up my kids for an all day play date, Jer and I hopped on the scooter and headed out east.

We stopped at Brewsters Seafood Market in Hampton Bays for a delicious lunch.  Thanks to Restaurant.com, and Jer's brother who sent us a gift certificate for Brewsters, we paid only $10.86 for $35 worth of seafood deliciousness.  Money well spent, as this is one of our favorite seafood places.

Afterwards, we headed out to Southampton.  We drove just past Coopers Beach (which is one of the top rated beaches in the country, but consequently has a $40 parking fee) to Road D, which happens to have free parking and walked out to enjoy this beautiful stretch of beach.

It was so beautiful, that I had to take many pictures with my little point and shoot camera.

Goodness knows it would have been nice to have the bigger cameras, but I love the portability of the small one, and honestly, it takes great shots, all things considered.

Because we're fun, we even set up the camera's timer to take this shot.  I truly couldn't ask for a better day, and I love that I was able to spend it with the man that I love the most.

This sign just made me smile, because honestly, what does it even mean?

After a cool dip in the ocean, and a beautiful walk down the beach, we headed back.  Amazingly, this was the view from the other side of the road.  Long Island is absolutely stunning.

In my opinion, any date day is only complete with ice cream, so we decided to stop at the Fudge Company in Southampton to get some dessert.

As crazy as it sounds, especially if you know my love for saving money, we paid $13.99 for these ice cream treats (and the water).  And surprisingly, I was okay with it.  Because it was the perfect way to end a wonderful day.  And though I can't honestly say that anyone should pay that much for ice cream, it was good and we had a fun time enjoying it together.

Thank you Southampton, for a beautiful day.  Thank you for your gorgeous beaches, your expensive ice cream and these funny signs that are posted all over your town.

We will be back.
