Food Day

My amazing friend Jen and I decided to celebrate the end of summer with a fun filled food day.  So, we  gathered up our children, and headed out to Riverhead.  After a delicious lunch at Funchos, we walked over to have some of the greatest home made ice cream ever at the Snowflake Ice Cream Shoppe.

It was so delicious... as in "Look, there is ice cream dripping off my nose" delicious.

The whole nose dripping thing was contagious.

After ice cream, we stopped by a few stores to pick up some last minute school supplies.  Ellee was pretty excited about her Tinker bell folder.  I was pretty excited about the free Post-it pad that I got.  In all reality, it wasn't that exciting.  I'm struggling with having a good attitude about buying supplies this late in the summer, because there are no good sales and many of the items are sold out.  Since I just received my supply list yesterday, I haven't been able to plan ahead.  However, in an attempt to fix my bad attitude, I've decided to be thankful for the little things in life... like a free Post-it pad.

Unfortunately, school supply shopping wasn't as exciting for everyone, so we tried to be quick about it.

And afterwards, we drove out here.  To this amazing bakery.

I've heard about it from many, many friends.  How amazing it is and how delicious everything is.

It did not disappoint.

The kids got some yummy cookies, and I got a dreamy lemon bar.  It was a fantastic way to bid farewell to a busy summer and welcome back fall.  A huge thank you to Jen and her beautiful kids for a very fun day.
