Our summer is slowly, but surely coming to an end. I spent the morning hosting my last Girls Group. Being extra ambitious, in addition to our other summer activities, I thought it would be fun to host a college-aged girls group on Friday mornings throughout the summer. We met together for an hour or so, ate good food, studied our way through Psalm 86 and then spent time encouraging and sharing.
All in all, I was totally right. It was fun. And amazing. And I'm so thankful for all of the girls who were able to come to the group this summer.
We also had one of our last play dates of the summer, with these sweet girls. The morning and afternoon involved a little art, lots of dress up and echoed with little voices shouting out, "Pretend that..." followed by things like, "I'm the Mom" and "You're the dog." It was quite entertaining, to say the least.
Yes, summer is nearly over. It was pretty hot out today, yet when night came, it cooled right down. Christian and Jer had soccer practice tonight, so Ellee and I went to cheer them on after going to the gym for Zumba. As much as I'll miss summer, I cannot wait for school to start (for the most part) and fall to kick in. I'm ready for jeans, apple cider and visits to the pumpkin farm (granted, we mostly go for the roasted corn, more so than the actual pumpkins).
I'm looking forward to our weekend, which will be filled with running around looking for last minute school supplies, a birthday party and a Labor Day barbecue with friends. Hope you all have a wonderful end to your summer as well!
