Thursday nights are good nights. I usually get in a Cardio class at the gym, come home, get ready and then walk myself and our two sweet kids over to the church to hang out with these kids.
When we get there, there is often a heated game of 4 square going on.
And always lots of smiling faces.
Which is what we love to see at youth group.
I love these kids. I love seeing them each week. I love hearing their stories and doing everything that I can to love them and show them God's love as well.
They go through a lot in their young lives.
With pressures from school, peers, family, and just their lives in general, each of them comes each week, no doubt carrying the weight of their worlds with them.
And we love that they come. We support them, we encourage them.
We do all that we can to be there for them.
One a side note, I'm especially fond of this guy. Though he looks like he could be one of the teens we work with, he is, in fact the love of my life. He has worked so hard all these years to build up an incredible youth program here in Eastport and the excitement and passion that he has for youth ministry is as strong, if not stronger than the day he decided to serve God by working with teens.
Back to tonight.
Back to these students.
They are amazing.
They are talented and passionate.
They are fun loving.
They inspire us.
They are the reason that we give up two hours of our lives each and every Thursday.
No matter what kind of week I've had
when I come to youth group, I'm refreshed.
I'm happy.
And I'm so incredibly blessed to work with such an amazing group of teens.
Thanks for an amazing night!
