Last week, we received some Christmas treasures in the mail, sent out from our dear Nana.
Nana just so happens to be an avid collector of Department 56 homes and village pieces. During the Christmas season, her home in Seattle is rich with the soft glow from these beautiful village scenes. In a wonderfully gracious gesture, she flew out many lovely pieces so that we could have our own village to display. So during the past few days we've worked to create our own town, complete with churches, shops, homes and lots of trees all resting on a soft blanket of cottony snow.
Nana specifically sent out two churches as well as this fun, boat house. She thought it might be fitting since we live on the East Coast.
My favorite was this piece. A blue roof and a little ivy on the front makes for quite a lovely home if you ask me. A huge thank you to our Nana for sharing such a special gift with us. Know that it will be well loved and cherished here.
Nana also sent out a birthday present for our Ellee girl, proudly worn here.
Nana clearly understands her granddaughter's love for holiday dresses.
Besides that, it seems like there is lots of Christmasy fun to be had these days. My business has also kept busy with family sessions and activities. Yesterday, I had a great time at our elementary school's PTO Holiday Breakfast. I was invited to come and take family pictures as well as a few shots with Santa. I met quite a few wonderful families and had a great morning.
Then today, I met up with a few beautiful families for a session in Westhampton. While waiting for them to arrive, I had a nice chat with a Banjo Playing Santa. He was a kind and talented man and we enjoyed hearing his music playing in the background during our session.
The session went wonderfully. We finished up just as a few sprinkles of rain began to fall. When I got home, I also had the chance to capture a few pictures for a dear friend of mine.
Needless to say, it's been a busy, but fun weekend. I'm looking forward to finishing up the evening with TAG and then our College and Career Group. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!
