Exiting a Bit Lamblike

With beautiful spring things like this blooming all over, this March will be exiting a bit lamblike.  These beautiful flowers were blooming on a tree right by our church and I couldn't help but snag a quick photo with my little camera, as opposed to the big ones that I usually lug around.  It's a Canon Powershot SD1400IS, which somewhat died in Puerto Rico last year when the lens wouldn't retract.  Miraculously, it was revived when in desperation, I gave it a few good smacks and it decided to behave itself again.

Moving on, tonight was our Jr. High Youth Group.  And on a side note, our son is looking pretty big these days.  I had a bit of a panic moment yesterday, when I realized that C had surpassed my shoulder height (by a few inches, somehow).  It's true.  Our kids are growing up.  And for the most part, we are welcoming it.

Youth Group was pretty awesome, because we got to hang out with awesome people like this girl.

Most nights for youth group, we take the kids over to the elementary school, to play games in their gym.  On the way, Ellee informed me that, "Those are the trees that I call big, that that is the moon that I call half moon."  It was simple and sweet information that just made me smile.

Over at the gym, we played a few rounds of a game that was a bit chaotic, but mostly fun.

C played with the big kids, and Ellee found a friend or two to hang with.

We ended the night with our usual one ball dodge ball, a crowd pleaser on any night.

Fun times with friends and orange cones.

And I'm not positive... but I'm pretty sure that these amazing girls were planking.

More fun times with orange cones.  I'm starting to rethink my Christmas present strategy for my kids this year, due to the popularity of enjoying the simpler things in life like orange cones.

We are talking about who living a great life, is like living a great story in youth group.  Tonight we focused on the fact that we are the main character of our life's story.  We talked about how we want to be a great main character, because God has created us to be just that.  And we talked about how the most true things about us are the things that God says.  And we talked through this list that shares some of those truths.

It was a great night.
