It was a very happy Easter.
We started our morning bright and early at Newport Beach for a Sunrise Easter Service.
We sang Easter songs and our good friend and church elder Marc shared an encouraging message.
I was super excited to see this amazing friend and her sweet daughter join us for the morning.
After the sunrise service, we headed back to the church to enjoy a beautiful breakfast made with love by some very talented men and women from our church.
Everyone had a great time.
It was a delicious way to start off the day.
And being surrounded by beautiful friends is always an extra bonus.
Ellee was delighted to find that her Easter dress matched the dress of one of our beautiful family friends.
And of course, we had to get an E and C picture from the morning too.
We also grabbed a quick pic with Grammy Joy
And one with Christian and his best friend.
After a quick cuddle with his girl, Jer preached an amazing Easter sermon this morning. We walked through that memorable Easter week and we encouraged not to live in the hopelessness of that Saturday, but in the joy and hope that Easter Sunday brought. Jer did an amazing job and I am so proud of him.
Finally, after the service, our wonderful friend Katie took a quick family picture for us.
It was a great Easter Sunday. The kids enjoyed their small, but fun Easter presents. After church, I cooked a pretty yummy Easter dinner, and save the small tragedy of burning the ham glaze, everything turned out pretty deliciously. We all took afternoon naps, and then went out to enjoy some fresh air. We rode bikes and enjoyed the sun set, as much as we enjoyed it as it rose this morning. Most importantly though, we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We celebrated promises fulfilled and hope given. And that made for a pretty amazing Sunday.
Enjoyed the Sunrise Service this morning! Ellie and Christian are just too cute for words. These shots are my favorites on your blog so far. Definite blow-up family shot (but who snapped that one if you are IN the pic?) :) Happy Easter to you all!
