In addition to enjoying a memorable afternoon at the American Girl Place, we also had a blast visiting other fun parts of New York City this past week when Jer's parents came out to visit us.
Eating at Chipotle, was certainly a highlight. I've decided that if I was ever to have an addiction to anything, it just might be this restaurant. Something about their amazing chicken burritos, filled with slightly spicy, perfectly cooked chicken, on a bed of cilantro lime rice, covered in fresh salsa and cheese, just makes my heart happy. Pair that with chips and fresh guacamole, and you get a pretty euphoric meal.
We also happened to stop by Macy's Department Store, where we caught a glimpse of Donald Trump, promoting his new cologne. Since we watch the Apprentice, it was fun to see him in person. He seemed kinder than I thought he would be, considering his show mainly revolves around firing people each week.
We also checked out the Times Square Toys R Us, where we saw this handsome fella.
Christian and Nana had fun picking out some new Lego sets. On a side note, our kids absolutely loved having their Nana and Papa come and visit. Since we live far from both of our families, it is always such a blessing when we are able to spend time with them.
Now, in case you were wondering where to find Bacon flavored jelly beans, search no longer. They have them at the Toys R Us candy store.
You can even get a matching Bacon necklace.
Or these Sour Smog Balls. Who knew that smog tasted crunchy with a chewy center?
Our kids opted to pick a more traditional type of candy, albeit a super-sized version.
We had a great time in the city.
And by the end of our trip, we were tired, but full after enjoying a few fun days altogether.
Papa and Nana left today, and we are just so thankful that they were able to come out and spend the week with us. We are definitely looking forward to seeing them again this fall, and until then will cherish the fun memories that were made this week.
