It's Memorial Day. For many of us, it's this iconic day of remembrance that also becomes a weekend in which we celebrate the beginning of summer. Our family spent the weekend remembering with thankful hearts the men and women who faithfully served and fought for our many freedoms. We also enjoyed a few get togethers with wonderful friends and concluded our celebrations today.
This morning, Jeremy shared a prayer at the annual Memorial Day service in our town and then we headed out to enjoy an amazing day.
Our friends the Griffins invited us out on their boat so we met up with them and headed out to the beach. Much to my dismay as I went to pull out my little camera to capture the sheer joy of our kids during their first day back at the beach, I realized that I had left the memory card in my card reader at home. Sigh. Thankfully, it didn't diminish at all the incredibly fun, relaxing and gorgeous day that we all enjoyed.
We hung out at the bay and then took a short walk over the dunes to enjoy the undeniable beauty of our ocean. It was a perfectly glorious afternoon. We ended the day with an amazing barbecue, great conversation and a campfire with marshmallows. Once again, it made me realize how thankful I am for the friends that God has so richly blessed us with here.
Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend as well!
