The Fun Moments of the Day

Life is strange, when one week you're experiencing a hurricane turned super storm, the next week, you're standing in 5 inches of snow from yesterday's nor'easter and the forecast for the coming weekend is for temps to reach the mid 60s.

Thankfully where we are out east, we didn't get much snow, but a half of an hour west, this is what was covering the ground.

Our kids did have a two hour delay this morning, so we spent the earlier morning baking banana and chocolate chip muffins and playing Monopoly on the iPad.  After dropping them off, Jer and I headed out to the Smithaven Mall.

I was pretty surprised to see Santa hanging out at the mall, it being November 8th and all.  Apparently he doesn't have much to do this time of year, outside of hanging out at malls.

After running a few errands, we wound up in the food court where I tried out this place because it was a strange sort of copy-cat version of my favorite restaurant of all time, Chipotle.  Obviously, it wasn't nearly as good, but it was worth a shot.  Needless to say, I feel that I should write the company and tell that that for this reason alone, they need to come further east.

My sweet husband bought me this hot chocolate.  It was delicious, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what "Rekindle the Season" meant.  I thought it might be some sort of subliminal messaging for the Amazon Kindle, because that's all I could think of when I saw it.

After the mall, we returned just in time to pick up this cutie pie and her brother.

Then after a great hour at the gym, we met up with all of these wonderful kids.  I love youth group nights.  I love seeing a huge group of teenagers who are amazing and wonderful.  That being said, I'll end this post with a few fun pictures of some of them :)  Oh, and for the record, all the shots from today were taken on my little Canon Powershot, because sometimes it's just nice to bring the little camera around to capture the fun moments of the day.
