Today is Jeremy's 32nd birthday. We spent the morning doing pre-surgical testing, the afternoon making last minute plans for Breakaway and this evening shopping at Target for all sorts of useful things for the weekend. Jer was able to fulfill one of his life-long dreams by getting to legitimately drive one of these things.
Sadly, it probably hasn't been one of Jer's best birthdays. This morning, we tried to somewhat enthusiastically decide that we would celebrate next week, when he was feeling better. The past few days have been a challenging balance of managing pain, getting rest, dealing with strong pain medication, planning for this weekend's retreat, keeping our sanity and in the midst of everything, working hard to find joy with the many blessings that have come amidst everything else.
That being said, I still wanted to take a moment to wish Jer a Happy Birthday. So here goes:
Happy Birthday Dear Jeremy!
I praise God for the 32 amazing years of life and mostly all good health that He's given you. I'm so very blessed and honored to call you my husband, and so very happy to know that you're also my best friend. I love you so very much.
You are a fantastic husband, a much-loved Daddy, an impactful youth pastor and a faithful friend.
I wish this year's birthday was better. But I know that even though it's not been great, it will all be okay in the end. I'll continue to do my best to take good care of you, no matter what the days may bring. I also know that God will continue to watch over us and to bless us as we work together to accomplish the good things that He as in store for us.
I love you with all of my heart and I wish you a Happy Birthday today, and many more to come!
Love, Laura
